Sports Medicine Fellowship
Elite sports medicine training program in Boston
Advanced Training in Sports Injury Management
The goal of the New England Baptist Hospital (NEBH) Sports Medicine Fellowship is to offer four fellows advanced training in the management of these aspects of sports injury:
- Postoperative care
- Sports medicine surgery, including arthroscopy
- Sports rehabilitation
Fellowship Details
Duration: One year — August 1 to July 31
Stipend: $82,000 per year, plus benefits
Program Requirements
To apply, you must meet these requirements:
- Be board-eligible
- Have experience in general orthopedics
- Obtain a full Massachusetts license
This fellowship is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
What To Expect
You’ll actively participate in the day-to-day management of patients. You will have a surgical schedule that is heavily weighted toward arthroscopic and open treatment of the following areas:
Conferences & Clinical Research
There are six conferences per month including a variety of topics:
- Basic science
- Biomechanics
- Clinical sports medicine
- Rehabilitation
There is a Journal Club each month. You are expected to be involved in either a clinical research project or a biomechanical project during your year. You’ll also produce at least one major clinical presentation.

The sports medicine team covers events for these professional and collegiate teams:

- Harvard University
- Bentley University
- Tufts University
- Buckingham Browne & Nichols School
