The Sr. Celtics program encourages elderly members of the Boston community to maintain an active lifestyle by participating in fitness and health education classes.
Celtics players, legends and New England Baptist Hospital staff lead seniors from throughout the Mission Hill neighborhood in group workouts and discuss the benefits of physical exercise. The program encourages exercise but also socialization, and it’s a critical part of keeping seniors active. It also helps address loneliness experienced among elderly citizens.
The goal of New England Baptist Hospital is to improve people’s lives and health through movement. With the Sr. Celtics program, NEBH and the Boston Celtics help the Boston community, and especially the senior community, realize the benefits and power of movement and motion.
New England Baptist Hospital is also proud to sponsor the Jr. Celtics program, which challenges over 750 3rd to 5th graders to develop their basketball game through skills, drills and leadership training.
