Mission, Vision & Values
Our Mission and Core Values
New England Baptist Hospital is a purpose-driven organization. Since our foundation more than a century ago, we have been committed to providing our patients with the highest-quality and most compassionate care available.
That’s what drives us every day.
New England Baptist Hospital transforms the lives of those we serve by promoting wellness, restoring function, lessening disability, alleviating pain and advancing knowledge of musculoskeletal diseases and related disorders.
New England Baptist Hospital is committed to upholding our core values of:
- Respect
- Ownership
- Superior Service
- Excellence
Our core values shape the New England Baptist Hospital experience, for both patients and providers. If you choose to take your career to NEBH, you will be joining a purpose-driven organization committed to making a meaningful impact on our patients’ lives.
The Baptist Rose
To symbolize NEBH’s commitment to our core values, we welcome every patient who comes through our doors with a red rose.
This custom was initiated by the late Carl J.B. Currie, a trustee of the hospital, who established the Carl J.B. & Olive Currie Rose Fund in 1958 to perpetuate the program. The red rose of welcome has become a hallmark of New England Baptist Hospital.
Well over a quarter million of these tokens have been distributed to patients in the past 50 years, currently at a rate of more than 300 per week.
Our patients and employees come from a wide range of cultures and religions, speak languages from throughout the world, and represent all genders and sexual identities.
We recognize that NEBH would not be the caring and compassionate health care institution we are today without every single one of you.
At NEBH, we are committed to making our hospital a caring and inclusive environment for all, no matter what your background or identity.
As part of our commitment to inclusivity, we have been operating a multi-year Diversity and Inclusion strategic plan to help us advance our DEI objectives. We will continue exploring other initiatives to continue making NEBH a safe and inclusive environment for all.
