Telehealth for Pain and Spine Care
When you come to the New England Baptist Hospital Spine Center, we make it as easy as possible for you to get the care you need.
Once you’ve completed an in-person evaluation, you can connect with your doctor virtually to address any new pain or ongoing needs and get answers to your questions.
As our providers are licensed in Massachusetts, we cannot perform telehealth services across state lines. Patients must be in Massachusetts at the time of their appointment.
Before Your Appointment
You can schedule a virtual visit between 8 am and 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
You can complete a virtual visit on your computer, smartphone or tablet. If your device does not have a camera, we can offer a telephone only consultation.
Our physiatrists will review your imaging studies in advance.
If your imaging was completed at New England Baptist Hospital or Shields, we can access them on our own. You can also submit your imaging results before your appointment.
During Your Appointment
When you meet with your care team from the comfort of your own home, you and your doctor get more time focus on your care. We educate you about all aspects of your pain and spine condition.
We help you understand your symptoms and all paths to recovery.
During a virtual visit, your doctor directs you through a movement assessment and a physical exam.
You receive:
- An assessment of the severity of your condition
- Guidance on what to do right now to manage your pain
- Information about the cause of your back or neck pain
