Physical Therapy
Helping you recover and move again
Reclaim Your Mobility
Various conditions and injuries affect your ability to move. New England Baptist Hospital (NEBH) is proud to provide specialized physical therapy (PT) to get you moving again — right here close to your home in Massachusetts.
At each physical therapy visit, a licensed physical therapist provides you with ongoing assessment and education. Our physical therapists provide physical therapy in two care settings to meet your needs:
- Inpatient physical therapy (while you’re staying in the hospital)
- Outpatient physical therapy (in our clinic once you’re back home)
Our physical therapy department can help you regain range of movement while you recover from a range of issues:
- Cardiopulmonary (heart and lung) conditions
- Lymphedema (buildup of fluid in the body)
- Orthopedic conditions or injuries
- Respiratory (breathing) problems
- Sports medicine conditions or injuries
- Spine conditions or injuries
- Surgery, including joint replacement surgery
- Wound care
Our staff includes board-certified clinical specialists in many of these areas.
Our inpatient physical therapy service focuses on working with people who’ve just had surgery. After surgery, it is important to get out of bed and moving again as quickly as possible. Because New England Baptist Hospital is an orthopedic hospital, our inpatient physical therapists have expertise in the latest techniques to achieve the best results for each person.
As a center of excellence for the treatment of orthopedic disease, New England Baptist Hospital offers a comprehensive, progressive and proactive approach to rehabilitation. Whether you’re recovering from surgery or an injury, you’ll get personalized attention and a customized therapy plan. This helps ensure that you’ll have the best results.
Our outpatient physical therapists are caring professionals who are leaders in their field. We offer you personalized attention with generous therapist-to-patient ratios.
Hand Care
We offer hand therapy for those recovering from a health condition affecting their hand. Our certified hand therapists can help you relearn how to perform daily tasks and regain your confidence.
We use an internationally recognized rehabilitation approach to treat spinal pain.
Our intensive Spine Boot Camp provides safe and effective ways to treat and manage back and neck pain.
We created this boot camp-like therapy from years of research. Findings show that:
- Taking it easy and avoiding activity is the worst thing people with chronic back pain can do.
- Patients who complete spine rehab therapy report better physical ability and less pain.
- Most who complete the program can return to regular activities, including sports.
Our program:
- Includes two, one-hour sessions a week.
- Is led by a trained network of high-quality providers.
- Runs for four to eight weeks.
- Teaches you safe and beneficial exercises that restore spine motion and strength.
You can attend the Spine Boot Camp at one of several locations closest to your home.
Continuing Motion Spine Program
We offer the Continuing Motion Spine Program to help you continue your rehab and exercise program.
You qualify for this program after you complete the Spine Boot Camp. Our physical therapy team creates an exercise plan for you that includes:
- Equipment- and non-equipment-based programs.
- Hour-long workout sessions one to three times a week.
- Supervised by a certified athletic trainer.
