Your orthopedist will begin by completing a physical exam, including asking you questions about your symptoms and health history. Depending on your symptoms, we also may order imaging tests, such as MRI or X-ray. Your specialist uses the results of these tests to diagnose your condition and create your treatment plan.
The treatment your specialist will recommend depends on your diagnosis, your overall health and other factors. In most cases, your specialist will start with more conservative treatment options.

If conservative treatments are not enough to manage your orthopedic condition, your orthopedist may recommend surgery, [Link to Services > Surgery] such as joint replacement. Your orthopedic doctor will explain which surgical procedure may be best for your situation.
You likely will need physical therapy after your surgery. During these sessions, you focus on regaining your function and range of motion, as well as strengthening your muscles.
