Clinical Trials
Bringing emerging orthopedic treatment options to you
Orthopedic Clinical Trials for Patients
Researchers at New England Baptist Hospital (NEBH) are committed to staying on the leading edge of treatment options for musculoskeletal conditions. To that end, we offer our patients orthopedic clinical trials. If you or a loved one is interested in joining a clinical trial at New England Baptist Hospital, read on for more information.
When researchers have developed a new treatment option or protocol, they conduct a clinical trial to ensure its safety and effectiveness. If you have certain health conditions and meet specific criteria, your doctor may suggest you participate in a clinical trial. Doing so can give you access to emerging treatment options for your health condition, such as a new type of orthopedic surgery.
Clinical Trial Education
The experts at New England Baptist Hospital know it’s important to be educated before you participate in a research study. Please be sure that our team has answered all of your questions before you agree to participate. If you have any additional questions, please contact Research Protections & Operations at 617-754-6684.
The New England Baptist Hospital Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews and approves all of our studies. An IRB is a committee that has been formally designated to approve, monitor and review biomedical and behavioral research involving humans. The IRB often conducts a risk-benefit analysis so they can determine whether or not the research should be done. The number one priority of IRBs is to protect human subjects from physical or psychological harm.
Our Division of Research conducts a number of ongoing studies at all times. For details about current studies that are open to enrollment or to learn more about what it means to participate in a study, please contact us at 617-754-6732.
