The benefits summary below is a general outline of offerings available to New England Baptist Hospital employees. Though every effort is made to keep this summary accurate and current, benefits may be changed, amended and/or discontinued at any time.
Eligibility & Coverage Levels

Employees scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week become eligible for insurance benefits effective as of your date of hire or transfer into a benefit-eligible position. Our healthcare coverage is available in the following four tiers:

Insurance Coverage
Medical Insurance, Including Prescription Drug Coverage

New England Baptist Hospital offers several levels of medical plan options through Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. 

All plans give employees access to Harvard Pilgrim’s quality provider network, with more than 88,000 doctors and clinicians and 154 hospitals in the region.

Dental Insurance

Employees can choose dental coverage from two Delta Dental PPO plans, providing members access to the largest network of providers in the country:

Vision Care

Vision coverage is provided by EyeMed Vision Care and includes benefits for eye exams, frames, lenses and contact lenses as well as offer a variety of discounts on services and materials. 

Life Insurance

New England Baptist Hospital provides employees with life insurance equal to one time the annual base salary at no cost. Employees also have the option to purchase their own additional coverage, as well as optional coverage for their dependents (spouse and/or children).

Time Off Work
Paid Time Off

We recognize the importance of our staff maintaining a healthy lifestyle by taking time away for rest, relaxation and personal activities. New England Baptist Hospital provides employees with paid time off for vacation, illness, celebration of holidays and other personal absences. Time accrues weekly based on regularly scheduled hours and years of service.

Disability Coverage

New England Baptist Hospital offers both short- and long-term disability programs through UNUM.

  • Short-term disability — Employees may purchase plans that provide coverage after 7, 14 or 30 days of a personal medical illness. Cost will depend on salary and coverage level chosen.
  • Long-term disability — New England Baptist Hospital provides benefit-eligible employees with coverage at 60% of monthly base pay (maximum of $10,000 per month) after an employee has been out for 180 days or more due to a disability. Employees also have the option to buy up to 66.67% coverage up to a monthly maximum of $15,000.
Other Health Benefits
Flexible Spending Accounts

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) allow employees to save money on their taxes by setting aside a portion of their salary on a pre-tax basis to pay for certain out-of-pocket medical and/or dependent care expenses. The Medical FSA can be used to offset expenses such as deductibles, coinsurance, prescriptions drugs, lab tests, and dental or vision care expenses. The Dependent Care FSA allows employees to pay for dependent care services that enable them and their spouses (if applicable) to work or look for work.

Family-Friendly Benefits

New England Baptist Hospital knows that family is a top priority. That’s why we offer additional services and resources through Care.com and KGA to help employees provide the best possible care for their loved ones. In addition, we offer:

  • Adoption Reimbursement Benefit Program — New England Baptist Hospital offers reimbursement to employees who are building families through adoption.
  • Newborns — We offer a lactation dual pump for use.
  • Family and Maternal Health Resources — In addition to healthy pregnancy guidance from Harvard Pilgrim’s Care Team, you also have access to app-based support from Ovia Health, which includes expert advice on your journey through reproductive health, pregnancy, parenting and menopause.

Additional family and senior care discounts are offered through Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.

Planning for Your Future
Retirement

New England Baptist Hospital helps employees reach their financial goals for retirement through participation in our 403(b) plan, which allows them to invest and save money for retirement while reducing current taxable income. Employees may voluntarily participate in the plan immediately upon hire. After one year of employment, with 1,000 hours of service, New England Baptist Hospital matches employee contributions up to a maximum match of 3% of base weekly income. In addition, New England Baptist Hospital will make a core contribution equal to 2% of base wages.

Tuition Reimbursement

Full-time employees with six months of service are eligible for up to $2,500 of tuition reimbursement per calendar year. Part-time employees with one year of service are eligible for up to $1,250 tuition reimbursement per calendar year.

Transportation
  • New England Baptist Hospital offers a 50% subsidy on all MBTA passes for benefit-eligible employees. Employees may purchase one discounted T-pass each month. Monthly discounted MBTA passes are available through payroll deduction.
  • Off-site parking is available for a low weekly cost on Terrace Street, about one-half mile from the hospital. Free shuttle service is provided from the Jackson Square station on the MBTA Orange Line and the Terrace Street Employee Parking lot.
  • The Bicycle Commuter Reimbursement provides up to $20 non-taxable reimbursement per month for qualified expenses for those employees who regularly bike to work and do not take advantage of the parking or MBTA program.
Financial & Legal Support
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

All employees of New England Baptist Hospital and their household members may access the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The program provides free, professional counseling to assist employees with many issues associated with personal and/or work-related problems.

ARAG Legal Plan

The ARAG Group legal plan gives employees access to a group of attorneys at more than 280 participating law firms and includes access to a toll-free legal hotline. For a low weekly cost — paid through the convenience of automatic paycheck deductions — the plan covers a variety of legal services, including attorney’s fees for counseling and litigation on these and other matters:
