Ensuring Comfort and Care for Patients

Whether you’re a patient or a loved one, we want your experience at New England Baptist Hospital (NEBH) to be as comfortable as possible.

Visitor Guidelines

We ask all guests entering the hospital daily between 5:30 am – 7:00 pm to stop at the Information Desk or Patient Access, where our receptionist will assist and direct them to the appropriate area.

Guests arriving after 7:00 pm are required to check in at the Security Command Center, where they will be issued a temporary visitor’s badge.

On rare occasions in which guests are already within the hospital at 7:00 pm and, with the approval of nursing, are planning on staying past 11:00 pm, must report to the Security Command Center to get a temporary visitor’s badge. This must be done no later than 11:00 pm.

In an effort to provide a restful and healing environment, we limit the number of guests per bedside to two at any time. Guests are encouraged to alternate visiting times.

All guests are encouraged to use hand sanitizer when entering and exiting a patient’s room.

Children 15 years of age or under must have adult supervision.

If there is an infectious disease outbreak (e.g. influenza) in the community or hospital, the Infection Control Committee can request immediate changes in the general visiting policies for safety reasons.

While New England Baptist Hospital recognizes the important role of guests in the healing process, there are circumstances in which it may be necessary to limit the presence of visitors. When visiting limitations are in force, the patient will be informed of the limitation and the reasons for it.

We offer interpreter services in more than 30 languages and dialects. Ask your care team for more information.

See our Locations page for hours, directions and visitor information for specific locations.

Every surgical inpatient is assigned an experienced operating room nurse as their nurse liaison. Your liaison will keep guests informed of your progress during surgery and answer all of their questions.

Your guest will get an electronic pager that will alert them when there is any news, so they can feel comfortable going to the cafeteria or outside of the hospital while they are waiting.
