About Dr. Diaz-Collado

Dr. Diaz-Collado is the Medical Director of Spinal Deformity at New England Baptist Hospital. He is a fellowship-trained back, neck, and spine specialist with a keen interest in degenerative spine conditions, spinal deformity, and complex reconstructive spine surgery. Dr. Diaz-Collado completed his Spine Surgery fellowship at the prestigious Washington University School of Medicine/Barnes-Jewish Hospital, where he also served as Clinical Instructor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

He attended the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. During his undergraduate years, he completed research fellowships in neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Harvard Medical School. He then earned his medical degree with honors from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed orthopaedic surgery residency at Yale University.

He is an Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine. He enjoys doing research, teaching, and advancing the growing body of knowledge in spine surgery through his own investigations and involvement in national societies. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, contributed several textbook chapters, and presented his work at many regional and national society meetings. He has received multiple awards, grants, and recognitions for his academic work and research. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the North American Spine Society (NASS), AO Spine North America (AOSNA), and the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS).

His ultimate professional goals are to provide his patients with the best and most advanced spine care and contribute significantly to the field of spine surgery through research and teaching.
